Auditions
The Witches of Eastwick is a riotous Gothic Comedy about a conservative small town, filled with many interesting and nosey people that are about to be rocked by a mysterious newcomer with devilish charm.
Based on John Updike’s acclaimed novel and the hugely successful 1987 film starring Jack Nicholson, Cher, Michelle Pfeiffer and Susan Sarandon, the musical is in turns cheeky, romantic, hilarious and sexy.
The story follows the exploits of the three women, the witches Alexandra Spofford, Jane Smart, and Sukie Rougemont, who acquired supernatural powers after leaving or being left by their husbands. But when they wish for the perfect man, the arrival of the charming Darryl Van Horne throws their world into convulsions. The mysterious Darryl seduces each of the women, encouraging them to expand their powers and creating a scandal in the town.
But when things start to get out of control, the witches decide to take matters into their own hands.

Please arrive at least 15 mins before your appointed time.
SINGING
Prepare two songs in contrasting styles that demonstrate your character, vocal ability and range. Songs from the show will not be accpeted. Bring your sheet music and please ensure it is in the correct key.
ACTING
Prepare a short reading from the script. Please note all characters require American accents. If not auditioning for specific role, please read a script piece for ‘Darryl’ or ‘Clyde’, for males; ‘Jane’ or ‘Sukie’, for females.
DANCING
Everyone will be required to attend a general Dance/Movement audition. No dance experience is necessary for these general auditions. Please wear comfy clothes and runners/sneakers to audition.
FEATURED DANCERS
All dancers applying for featured dance roles are required to undertake singing and acting auditions. You will be required to sing ‘Happy Birthday’, and prepare a short reading from the script for ‘Darryl’ or ‘Clyde’, for males; ‘Jane’ or ‘Sukie’, for females
Auditions will be held on:
Sunday 22nd November: 3:30pm-6:30pm
Tuesday 24th November: 7pm-10pm
Wednesday 25th November: 7pm-10pm
And will comprise of singing/acting followed by a dancing audition. Please be prepared to wait for the dance audition once your vocal/acting audition has finished.
Call-backs will be held on Sunday 29th November: 2pm-5pm, for some roles.
Meet and greet will be held on Sunday 6th December: 2pm-4pm. We will also be taking measurements for costumes at this meeting.
Auditionees need to be 18 years and over.

Rehearsals are held on:
Sunday afternoon 2pm-6pm, Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7:30pm-10pm.
Please note Sunday full day rehearsals 11am-6pm will begin on the 11th April.
Rehearsals begin on Sunday 7th February 2010.
